New At Kahala Mall
Let 'Therapists' Be Your Guide
Honolulu, Hawaii, Island Life:
Tina Wary has no formal retail or design background, but she's the first to attest to her love of fashion. It's her passion that's inspiring her to open Therapy Boutique in Kahala Mall on Monday. Here she has given "retail therapy" a whole new meaning. Style "therapists" will help customers coordinate an outfit to complement their personal style. "Group therapy" events will be offered.
Wary is making it her mission to find lines that were not previously available in Honolulu. She shopped the Magic, Project and Pool shows in Las Vegas, as well as L.A. Market, looking for fresh, new merchandise. Among the offerings: Orion fun frocks from London, Rich & Skinny denim, Love Mert eco-friendly handbags fashioned from vintage fabrics, Voom by Joy Han silk dresses and jewelry by the new local company Sati Gems.
The interior design elements are in keeping with the theme. Created by former Honolulu resident Brian Glover (partner of SimonGlover Inc.), an Iolani grad who now does interiors for hip L.A. boutiques, it's all about calm, modern spaces, and, natch, a chocolate faux leather therapist's couch.
